My 11 Month Old!

Wow! Another month has flown by...
We're now on the count down to turning ONE!

This month...
  • We have two new teeth, making a grand total of 3. Top middle right and bottom middle left. With her two biggest teeth on on the same side, we look a little uneven and crooked (but of course still adorable!).
  • She started clapping for herself. Its so stinkin cute. Really.
  • She's a true escape artist. We have a bit of a 'baby jail' in our living room and she can pretty much figure a new way out everyday! So fun for mommy and daddy!
(playing with the fireplace cushions she, so very kindly, took off)
  • She loves to help me clean out drawers and fold clothes. And by 'help' I mean not at all. She can open her dresser drawers and then gleefully flings all her clothes out in piles before moving on to the next. Seriously, before I can pick all the clothes back up she has already destroyed another.
  • She's a bit of a dare devil. She loves to swing high, do flips off mom, be thrown HIGH in the air, and climb onto anything she shouldn't. She really has no care for her own personal well being.
  • She had a little cold last week that made her feel pretty crummy. She felt a little better as long as she was cuddle up next to mommy and Lammy.
She loves to lay in her baby ball pit and watch TV. You know, it's a rough life around here!

Organizing the wires behind the TV. If she doesn't do it, no one will!

I'm a little sad (ok... a lot sad) that this is my last monthly post before her big birthday :( I'm not ready to have a one year old! This year has gone by WAY TO FAST!!!

My 10 Month Old!

Our little 10 month old "baby" girl has been so busy this past month!

She can really crawl (like in a Speedy Gonzales kind of way), she can also pull up to stand with the assistance of anything (other small children, my leg, my hair, things that can not support her weight, etc.) and is already starting to cruise. So basically nothing is safe in our house.

She was granted one tooth (bottom right). That was fun!

She became officially to long for her little car seat, so we've moved up!

She eats 3 (very slow, messy) meals a day. She only wants to feed herself. She'll spit out any food you might try to sneak in her mouth to speed this process up.

Loves a sippy cup. But if she's not really thirsty, she'll just lay in the floor, suck and let it run out of her mouth to soak herself and said flooring underneath!

She still wants to nurse about 3 times a day and once at night.

She is wearing mostly 9 month clothes with some 6 and 12 months outfits thrown in.

She is still a complete mama's girl. She still only says "mama" but has a couple other sounds that are often heard. ("Baba" "Dada" - neither in reference to anything or anyone)

She needs two naps a day to be happy. And for mommy's sanity.

She gives the best hugs in the whole wide world!

She loves to pull my hair out in fistfuls, watch Baby Neptune, "help" anyone do almost anything, the puppies, taking a bath, reading books and playing with our floor vents when the air is on.

She is still a very happy baby! Smiling, laughing and making faces all the time. I'm so proud to be her mommy!

Happy early Valentine's Day for our little cupid!

Snow Day!

Well... Blizzard 2011 is among us (or was... depending on when you're reading this).

(notice the super appropriate pjs she's wearing)

With over a foot of snow, the dogs won't even think of going outside (really, I think they've decided to wait until summer). I really don't blame them either!

I'm ready for a vacation to a warm, sunny beach... who's with me!

Well, I guess we can just settle for some cute pictures!

This is the new position Ellis does most of her sleeping in! She will literally just be playing away in her crib and then fall over asleep.

Just a cute picture of her watching her favorite Baby Einstein video, Baby Neptune!

Apparently snow makes me a little domestic. I made baby cereal pancakes for E's breakfast this morning. Get the recipe here. And bonus, the recipe makes a bunch, so you can freeze the rest for quick meals later!

One way to measure the height of a snow drift!

Watching Daddy shovel the driveway!

Hope everyone stays warm and dry!

My 9 Month Old!

3/4 of a year
274 days
or
6,574 hours...

no matter how you say it, my baby girl is 9 months old!

  • She has graduated to feeding herslef pretty much everything (cut into tiny bits, of course!) Shredded cheese, avocado and green beans are some of our favorites!
  • She loves her sippy cup and water.
  • She is almost crawling. ALMOST. Like in the next few days it should happen.
  • This is the first time her age and PJ size match. Still wearing mostly 6 month clothes.
  • She got to see her first snow. She thought it was cool to watch it from the window!
  • She also waved bye bye and kissed the baby in the mirror for the first time on her actual birthday.
  • 9 month stats: 17 lbs, 12 ounces (25-50%) and 28 1/4 inches (75%)
We've had a great month together, but I go back to school next week. Can't believe in 3 months we'll be celebrating her first birthday!

Sick, Sweet and Funny!

The week between Christmas and New Year's Day is always one of my favorite weeks of the year. It is usually a time that we are off-work/school and are able to unwind from the holiday madness and just enjoy some family time together. This year has been a little different. Brady and I have both had our turn with the oh-so-exciting stomach flu, each separately, so its been roughly a week of sickness. We both thought we were dying. Ellis has managed to so far escape any such sickness thankfully!

In the day between our sicknesses, when it was so warm outside, we decided to take Ellis to the park for the first time. Our favorite neighbor, Hallie was there. A good time was had by all!

Being sick we haven't left the house much. This morning after putting E down for her nap, Brady was looking out the window and notice this lovely display of affection someone created our of our still up Christmas decorations. We both had a good laugh. Hopefully, everyone driving to church this morning also had a good laugh. If you would like credit, please contact me!

2010 Photo Recap

I don't know about you, but 2010 zoomed by for me.
I got a little misty eyed thinking about my already 8 month old and went peeking through all my old photos. I found so many that got left behind and that I had already forgotten about.

So I made up my own game.

The rules: Pick a few photos from each month over the past year that haven't been previously posted and write about them. Simple enough.

So here goes...

January:
Snow/ice storm. Tattoo (the once previously spoiled puppy) loved to bask in the glory of a space heater!
Reese (our niece) turned 3. Brady made sure Ellis got to join in on the fun! And my SIL made the awesome cake!

February:
My diaper bag, purse, changing pad combo arrived! So excited! It seriously took me months to find the diaper bag I wanted. And I finally had to get someone to make it for me!

March:
(it was a little slim pickins in the photo library for March, guess I was saving up my picture taking for Miss Ellis...)
Anderson Lee Murray made his arrival.
Planned babies born just 15 days apart!
I hoped that they could wear these matching sweater sets for some photos, but they grew at different rates and Ellis just wore hers this fall.

April:
Ellis made her arrival, but that was well documented!
Sleeping on mommy was a serious hobby at the time! And it could wear a little girl out!
I had to post this picture. I think its the only picture of me looking decent with her this little. I think we might have had a doctor's appointment that day or something.

May:
I remember the day when we could let E sleep on one of our throw pillows while we ate dinner! (Side note: Wow! Those are some skinny legs!)

June:
We had this bird's nest for most of the summer on our front porch.
This was one of the groups (flocks?) of babies!
They were cute to look at from the safety of inside the house. Mama bird was not so nice if you were outside!

July:
Silly girl!

August:
ALL of my textbooks.
I remember this be a scary moment. And feeling very poor.

September:
Some seriously post nap crazy hair!
To carry her in from the car, Brady sat his leftover pizza on her lap.
She decided to just help herself

October:
Cereal for the first time!
She loved it... at least externally!

November:
So tired. Feel asleep in her highchair.

December:
Having fun with our vegetable medley & brown rice.
I love the joy on her face!
Dressed in Mommy's jeans (Wow, those jeans make me look like one tall mama!) and Daddy's boots!

As you can see, it was a great year!
Happy New Year! Welcome 2011!
